Early Practice (1997–2000)

  • Began Buddhist meditation in 1997.
  • Met Dzogchen teacher Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche on Monte Amiata; received direct transmissions including Green Tara.
  • Preferred silent meditation over noisy group settings–>interest in silent retreats
  • Completed short Vipassana retreats in Beatenberg; deeply impressed by teacher Arya Nani.
  • Attended a 15-day advanced retreat with Mahasi Bhante Sujiva in Valais; studied Anapana, Vipassana, Metta; appreciated humor and clarity; experienced profound meditative states.

Meditation Deepening (2001–2012)

  • Faced choice between ordination and family; chose family, married, had two children.
  • Traveled to India in 2004 to study Dhrupad (North Indian classical music); integrated music and meditation as core practice.
  • Practiced intensively at Goenka Vipassana centers near Pune and Bhopal.

Life, Teaching, and Music (2012–2016)

  • Returned to Switzerland: managed family and music company, worked as engineer, taught singing.
  • Stage performer since 2009; gained momentum in 2020 after separation.
  • Studied Pali Canon and Buddhist texts with Martin Kalff from 2016 onward.
  • Discovered Ayya Tathaaloka; visited monastery and hermitage in Sonoma Beach (2017).
  • Lived briefly in forest hermitage; practiced blue kasina and systematic Metta meditation.
  • Faced challenges maintaining regular practice in everyday life.

Pandemic Period and Music Projects (2020–2022)

  • COVID disrupted concerts and professional life.
  • Composed electroacoustic works based on suttas, mantras, Therigathas; premiered in 2022.
  • Returned to engineering after financial constraints despite cultural funding.

Return to Formal Meditation (2024–Present)

  • Resumed meditation focusing on Metta, Mudita, and Vipassana.
  • Studied under Pa Auk’s methodology: systematic 40 meditation objects and mastering of jhanas for deep concentration.
  • Traveled to Pa Auk monasteries in Thailand and Sri Lanka; son temporarily ordained in 2025.
  • Inspired by life in large communities of nuns and disciplined practice in the jungle.

Current Life and Work

  • Offers meditation teaching and spiritual coaching online, by phone, or in person at Arbon loft on Lake Constance, also in Zurich or Bern on request.
  • Lives and works along Arbon–Zurich–Bern axis, Switzerland.
  • Professionally: urban planner in senior management.
  • teaching more intensely, specially meditation and engagement in palliative care.
